My initial thesis ideas were unique in some ways, but here are a three reasons I&#8217;m back at the drawing board:<\/p>\n<p>1. <a href=\"http:\/\/thatgamecompany.com\">thatgamecompany.com<\/a><br \/>\n2. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.delicious-monster.com\/\">delicious-monster.com<\/a><br \/>\n3. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geni.com\/\">geni.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Smile capturing is a new idea that might have some traction, but then again, maybe not.  In the meantime, below is a partial list of people \/ topics I&#8217;ve been investigating:<\/p>\n<p>Linda Stone &#8211; continuous partial attention<br \/>\nMerlin Mann &#8211; getting things done<br \/>\nMartin Seligman &#8211; positive psychology<br \/>\nZoran Josipovic &#8211; nonduality<br \/>\nMihaly Csikszentmihalyi &#8211; flow theory for optimal experience<br \/>\nJenova Chen &#8211; flow in games<br \/>\nJohan Huizinga &#8211; homo ludens<br \/>\nNathan Eagle &#8211; reality mining<br \/>\nJoseph Beuys &#8211; fluxus movement<br \/>\nGuy Ernest Debord &#8211; situationists + spectacle<br \/>\nZak Miller &#8211; feel good day<br \/>\nJane McGonigal &#8211; arg&#8217;s for social good<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<\/p>\n<p>On another note, I installed and played <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crayonphysics.com\/\">Crayon Physics<\/a>  for the first time today.  I also attended a talk by Joshua Spodek about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.submediaworld.com\/\">Submedia World<\/a>.  Both were pretty satisfying.  Thanks, Syed.
